His death was announced on Wednesday through a statement shared on his social media accounts. “This morning our beloved Leo Dan left his body in peace and with the love of his family,” the post revealed.
Written in Spanish, it continued, “Thus, He returned to the pure light of his Heavenly Father, to guide us and take care of us from infinity. Today, January 1, 2025, we invite everyone who was part of his story and who were touched by his legacy, to celebrate his love, his music, and his life. With great peace in our hearts, we remember and feel his deep love… forever.”
The statement ended with the biblical verse John 11:25: “Then Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”
Known for his soothing voice and uniquely emotive style, Dan stood as a giant in Latin music, enchanting listeners with hits like “Celia,” “Fanny,” “Como te extraño, mi amor,” and the unforgettable “Esa pared.”
